stress management in a high intensity industry

Time Management
I'm sititng at my computer, listless, and really burnt out (or so I say). Which is why I'm writing. Kinda ironic, since I had wanted to commit to writing more often from a standpoint of promoting myself, documenting my life from a job/tech perspective, and yet I have not blogged anything since until I found myself nice and bored.
Everythingwhelmed: A synonym to sonder
Quite often I get a sense of what I'll called everythingwhelmed. Of course I feel imposter syndrome constantly as an aspiring SWE, but it's more so of the fact that there's so much happening around me, and I can't see how I can navigate my interests optimally in this space so that I can A. make money and get fucking rich and B. actually pursue what interests me and try to build out a proper understanding of the systems surrounding us. Though I suppose that kind of just never ends.
This really is just one big rant for now. I find that when I'm in this mental space that I operate kind of weirdly. Much weirder than normal. But I wanted to mash keys without thinking, and this is perhaps more productive than getting my wpm up on monkeytype. Maybe I'll make a monkeytype clone. I dig that sort of aesthetic. Clean, flexible, and sexy. I can't really call myself a true engineer, since I feel that I lack that altruism that really embodies what it means to be a SWE in the deepest sense. Perhaps I'm more SWE-like than those already in the industry, but I also have crippling imposter syndrome for the next 50 minutes.
// my codeforces solution from today, just to test the code feature and show substance haha
#include <bits/stdc++.h>
using namespace std;
int main() {
std::string input;
cin >> input;
unordered_set<char> distinct_chars(input.begin(), input.end());
cout << (distinct_chars.size() % 2 == 0 ? "CHAT WITH HER!" : "IGNORE HIM!");
return 0;
}
/*
* std::string str = "programming";
// Construct the set directly using string iterators
std::unordered_set<char> distinct_chars(str.begin(), str.end());
// Get the count of unique characters
std::size_t unique_count = distinct_chars.size();
std::cout << "Distinct count: " << unique_count << std::endl; // Outputs: 8
return 0;*/
Updates
Whatever - current updates on my job search: 0 offers. HAHA. I'm really excited for when I get an offer and get to post the following on LinkedIn: "Pleased to announce that I'm retitiring from the job search. LET'S FUCKING GOOO." But sometimes, like people will often say on social media, is that it's really hard to stay motivated.
"Your mind is like a magnet: Think of blessings, and they will come, and think of negative things, and you will absorb them. Train and cultivate your mind to think positive."
This is harder than one thinks.
Besides this, I'm at a startup called PoseTek. It's two of my friends. It's got real substance, but sometimes it also bothers me because I like real structure, and learning from real engineers in a real work environemnt. This is not that. By any means. Not even close. But I feel like I'm learning(?), maybe? We do have funding too, and a board of advisors we'll turn into a board of investors when we get seeded. It's exciting, but also? I don't know shit. I want to take the time to really learn. I learn and adapt quick. So I really want to get into a real company and learn what interests me. And get paid big bucks for it. But anyway. Startup is still exciting news.
I also had a LinkedIn post blow up. That was cool. I'm taking it a day at a time and gradually building my presence in EVERYTHING. That's kind of an approach I'm taking. I'll aritculate it more in a later post when I talk about what I'm also currently working on (besides the startup, cool personal stuff). Also, swearing on something that's technically public but will get 0 user traffic is kind of liberating...
